Pros:
- Unique Atmosphere & Lighting
- Low Poly & Utilises Normal and Displacement Maps
Cons:
- Too Dark. Hard to See All Details
- Doesn't Resemble a Dojo. This is Down to Using a
Concept Art as my only Reference. Since then, I've ALWAYS collected primary resources, even if my inspiration comes from a concept art piece.
- Roughness maps aren't Physically Accurate.
Okami Ishizuka Dojo - UE4
Okami Ishizuka Dojo was created as a personal project whilst completing my University dissertation. The aim was to create the scene before my Universities degree showreel. Dojo names are typically named after the sensei of the Dojo, and in this case the sensei of this Dojo is Okami Ishizuka. My aim for this in the future is to create a small cut scene, showing the start to a fight. A special mention to Albert Naumov for help on the lighting, and general atmosphere of the scene, which has helped to create this unique feeling. All 3D Assets have been created by me. Textures are either self created, or taken from CGTextures. Polycount was often a great source of help, as the developers on the forums gave important critique and feedback, which pushed the work and eliminated mistakes.
Total Poly Count: Estimate between 50k - 60k
Start: April 2015
Completion: June 2015
Software Used: Maya, Photoshop, UE4, CrazyBump
